1st Father's Day

Dan's 1st Father's Day- full of little surprises and lunch out to his favorite restaurant- Outback.  Amelia made her Daddy a special picture book on shutterfly that was full of pictures of her and Daddy.  Her Daddy loved it- of course :)

Mommy was starting to get jealous that Amelia was being so cooperative for pictures for Father's Day when she just screamed when we tried to get pictures for Mother's Day.  But then . . .

daddy joined in :)

We were not having much luck in the self-portrait shots either

We made a memory :)

Later that evening, Amelia (sporting her "I love Daddy, Daddy loves Me" outfit) was much calmer and happier.

Daddy's sweet little girl

I thought this was a great picture when I took it- upon later inspection I noticed Amelia had just spit-up . . oh well :)

Riverbend and More

Last week Elizabeth won tickets on our local Christian radio station to see Third Day at Riverbend- a week long outdoor festival with concerts each night.  We were concerned about the weather being so hot lately- in the mid 90's but God blessed us with a big thunderstorm at dinner time that cooled things off for the concert later that night.  Amelia was in awe of all the people, sights and sounds!

Here's Amelia and Daddy waiting for the concert to start!

We had pretty good seats considering it was free!

Amelia took a short nap before the concert started- seeing all the people just tuckered her out!

Later that night, Amelia enjoyed Mommy's lemonade :)

Amelia has not liked her bouncer seat as much so we decided to give the bumbo seat a try. She likes it for a few minutes then she will arch her back and want out.

At our usual Friday lunch date with Daddy- Amelia grabbed Dan's salad bowl and was moving it back and forth on the table. She has really started grabbing everything within her reach lately!

Fun with Friends

This past weekend we had the pleasure of having my two best friends (Sabrina and Mary Jo) come for a visit.  Sabrina (8 months pregnant) brought her 21 month old daughter Leah. Dan and I got to see what our future may look like in a couple of years with a toddler in the house.  What fun!

We attempted to do a short hike around part of Harrison Bay but an approaching thunderstorm had other ideas.  We were able to get this quick picture right before it poured!

After the weather cleared up and we had lunch it was off to Coolidge Park for Leah to play in the fountain.  She had such a great time playing, laughing, and putting water on our legs.

Amelia, on the other hand did not like the water. She much preferred to be held by Mommy and watch!

My adorable bathing beauty!

The sun and commotion of all the kids playing in the fountain just wore this little girl out!

Amelia did wake up in time for her first carousel ride.  Dan held Amelia and she was just as curious as ever- taking everything in.

Whoa bunny!

Leah will be getting a little brother in just a few weeks!  We wanted to see how she would do with Amelia. So far so good .  .  .

A little loving . . . Amelia is not so sure :)

Mary Jo enjoyed loving on Amelia!

The three amigas together again (+ a couple of adorable kids).  I hated to see them go and wish we all lived closer so we could hang out more often.  Awesome friends like these are a treasure and a huge blessing!

Smile!

The past couple of weeks Amelia has really started smiling- all throughout the day.  I was finally able to get some clear pictures of her adorable grin!  Enjoy :)

Around the House

Amelia is a great sleeper.  We are getting ready to transition her to her crib in just about a week.  This is what she looks like at night when we first lay her down in her bassinet.

By morning, she looks like this . . .

Amelia loves to spend time with her Daddy in the evenings.  The other day he read her his favorite book when he was a baby- "I am a Bunny"

After reading to her and singing to her for a little while, this is what happened . . .

Amelia loves her bath time!  She just loves to look at herself in the mirror- it's hard to get her to look at anything else!

Her hair gets curly when it is wet. I wonder if she will have wavy/curly hair like her Mommy did as a toddler.

She is so adorable!
