Nap time- No Way!

We had some family visiting for Amelia's birthday so she got to sleep in baby Luke's room in the pack-n-play.  Well . . . sleeping didn't really happen!

I peeked in upon hearing her still talking after 30 minutes . . . after I saw this I ran downstairs to get my camera to capture the moment

St. Patrick's Day

I'm the luckiest woman . . . I have an amazing husband that loves me who tells me and shows me all the time! Dan is also a wonderful father- he adores his little girl and his son! Amelia has him wrapped around her little finger and Luke just looks up at his daddy in awe! All of my dreams are coming true!  Even though I have hard days at times I try to step back and not take for granted just how much God has blessed me.

Amelia has been obsessed with these boots lately- and it's just when the weather is warming up and not cold enough to wear them out so she wears them around the house

Luke loves to snuggle

I realized I didn't have any pictures of me with BOTH my kids :)

2 Months Old: 3-11-12

My sweet baby boy- oh how I love Luke.  He loves to snuggle- he loves to be held right up on my chest with his head where he can tuck it just next to my head.  He loves for his Daddy to hold him at night when he gets fussy- Dan can usually lay back on the couch with Luke laying on his chest- Dan just pats his back and within minutes the little guy is out! He is sleeping through the night- has been since around 7 weeks old!  He typically has a bedtime feeding around 8:30-9:00 and will sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 the next morning! He is awake for a good little while in the morning- this is when he loves to stretch out and play on his playmat.  He is already trying to follow Amelia around with his eyes and his head.  He will then usually take a nice long nap.  After his afternoon feeding he will be awake a little bit but will take another nap.  He is usually awake after his dinner time feeding.  Eventually I'm hoping to get him to take a more consistent morning nap and afternoon nap.  He just started to smile in response to us a little- it's not the full blown smile yet but I can tell it's going to be any day.  Oh boy are we in trouble with Luke- he's going to be a heart breaker!  When he smiles he has the sweetest dimples and his whole face just lights up- he's absolutely adorable! 

At his check-up he was 11 lbs 6 oz and 21 3/4 inches long.  That means in the past month he grew almost 2 pounds and 1 3/4 inches!  He is in the 50th percentile for his weight and height. Our weather here suddenly turned very warm and all the 0-3 month clothes are long sleeves/pants. Luckily I was able to pick up some onesies and little shorts for Luke at the consignement sale to get us through the next month or so until he gets into his 3-6 month clothes which are all for summer.  Thankfully Luke will also take a bottle- so when I have been working at the consignment sale Daddy was able to give him a bottle for one feeding bring him to me for the next feeding.

Creative Discovery Museum

We have a wonderful children's museum downtown that has all kinds of hands-on activities for kids of all ages.  I heard on the news that they were having a free family evening so after dinner we headed over for a little bit of fun.  When Amelia gets a little older we would love to buy a membership so we can go anytime :)

Grandpa's Big Guy

Here's our sweet little guy again rocking his "Grandpa's Big Guy" shirt at 7 weeks old!

Check out the one eyebrow down- that is most definitely an Aleshire trait :)

(my little guy's nails grow so fast- he scratched himself on his cheek.  He does NOT like his nails being clipped! 

Bath time

Luke really likes taking a bath.  He loves to look all around the room and kick his legs in the water.  I remember Amelia just staring at herself in the mirror- not my sweet boy.  He likes to look at me and all around checking everything out.  These were taken when we was 7 weeks old :)

Unfortunately- Luke does NOT like the drying off/getting dressed process

Fun at the Park

Amelia is finally big enough and the weather finally warm enough to enjoy the park.  We have one near us that was recently remodeled so we decided to check it out.  Amelia LOVED it- we will probably be spending a LOT of time there in the next few months.

Luke took a nice little nap

she was a little unsure- for just a minute- once she figured out she could run around and get on any slide she wanted she loved it!

she seems so small up there- after Daddy helped her one time to make sure she could do it- she was fearless!

this slide was even bigger- and she LOVED it; after she came down she would say "more" over and over again

Back Porch

The weather is finally turning to spring and it's a good thing because Amelia has just been going stir crazy!  We finally got her sandbox all set up on the back porch so she can play while Mommy is getting ready for meals or whatever just inside the kitchen.
