Spring Fever

We have had some beautiful warmer weather (upper 60's) in our area and this has caused some major spring fever!  Combined with the fact that Amelia is wanting to walk (with help) everywhere now we are just itching to get outdoors!  Last fall Dan and I bought Amelia an awesome playset at our local consignment sale and have been storing it in the garage (since she was too small for it until now).  Well with all this warm weather and Amelia up on her feet so much more- we set it up this past weekend.  Here she is looking so small on her new playset!

We also set up this little Kangaroo Climber that Grammy found- Amelia was a bit overwhelmed at first

Playing Peek-a-Boo with Daddy

Now Amelia will crawl to the back door and point outside- if I don't take her out she will have a little fit

New Big Girl Car Seat

My baby girl is growing up- we just got her a new big girl convertible car seat. After much research and advice from friends and family we got the Britax Marathon. Here she is in her new seat . . .

Around the House

Here are just a collection of pictures from all the fun we have on a day to day basis.

Amelia and Baylee (5 month old baby girl I babysit)- with paci's ready for naptime

Story time and Snuggles with Daddy before bed

"What's that?" She can't say it yet but she is pointing at everything!

I love love love this sweet smile!

Amelia thinks it's funny now to grab her feet when you are trying to change her.  When you try to put her legs back down she will just giggle :)  It's become a little game now!

Daddy's Lil' Valentine

Valentine's is really about celebrating love- the love we have for one another, for our spouses, our children, family, friends, and for the Lord.  This year we had so much to celebrate. . . last year this time I was VERY pregnant and ready for baby girl to come!  This year she is the joy of my life and I love her more than I ever thought I could love!  I also realize again and again that my love for my husband just continues to grow and grow.

Dan outdid himself with several small meaningful surprises including: breakfast of pink pancakes and chocolate milk, a dozen red roses, brownies, a couple of other small things, special yogurt melts for Amelia, and when I thought the surprises were over he gave me a pearl necklace!  We went out to lunch on Valentine's to one of our favorite Japanese places (hoping to not have to deal with the crowds Valentines night) and this past weekend we tried out the Station House at the Chattanooga Choo Choo for our "Valentine Dinner".  This restaurant is famous for it's singing servers- it was awesome!

Notice no more goatee :(  Dan usually keeps it from November through Valentines day even though I beg to keep it longer.
Funny picture- sorry it's kinda hard to see.

Valentine package from Grammy & Papa

A couple of day ago Amelia received a valentine package from her Grammy and Papa. We sure do wish we lived closer to Grammy & Papa and Grandma & Grandpa!

Amelia loved the bright colored wrapping paper and kept pointing at the animals.

She liked the tissue paper at first . . . but then I think it was just too much

Amelia loves her new books!

Sweater Dress

I just had to get some pictures of Amelia this past Sunday in her adorable little sweater dress and boots.  She was not in the best mood but we were able to get some good ones.  Enjoy!

Rubbing her paci over those top two teeth coming in :(

"I've had enough!"

Super Bowl & a Sleepy Baby

Dan and I are not really into football but we do enjoy watching the Super Bowl.  This year we decided to cheer for the Green Bay Packers . . . and we were glad we did :)

Amelia has been having a hard time the past few days with teething- her top two teeth are coming in.  One finally poked through on Monday but we are still waiting on the other.  Plus on Sundays Amelia doesn't take her morning nap because church is just so much fun so our schedule is a little off.  Even though she had her normal afternoon nap she was fussy, clingy and sleepy Sunday evening.  So we enjoyed snuggling and Amelia went down for an early bedtime!

Lunch Date with Daddy

Every Friday Amelia and I like to go out and meet Daddy for lunch.  It's a special treat we look forward to all week!  Well, I started babysitting a friends little baby girl in January so its been a learning experience to get two babies loaded up and out places.  We have successfully gone to the women's bible study at my church for several weeks- they have child care and Amelia just loves those ladies (they are the same ones she sees Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights so it's great!).  Right now I am keeping the little baby with me during bible study and she usually sleeps through the whole thing.

Well, we attempted a lunch date with Daddy with two little girls.  Here are two sweet little girls loaded up in the car ready to head to Chick-fil-A.

Being silly with Daddy!  We gave Amelia small pieces of a chicken nugget and she gobbled it up!

Amelia's shirt says "He's Not Just My Daddy . . . He's My HERO!"

When we got home both little girls were sound asleep!

My 10 Month old

I realized that I have not put monthly updates for the past couple of months for Amelia.  We have been so busy that we haven't even done the monthly picture with the bear.  At Amelia's 9 month appointment she was 15lbs 9oz and 27 inches long.  She is about average height wise but dropped to the 5 or 10 percentile for her weight.  The pediatrician said she was healthy and everything looked good- she probably will just be petite.  We go back next week to check her weight again and also her ears (we discovered an ear infection at her 9 month check-up as well).

(Yes, she is chewing on her shoe- top two teeth coming in so she is going crazy putting things in her mouth)

This girl LOVES books!

I love her face here- I finally just let her have at the paper

Eating:  Amelia is breast feeding 4 times a day- morning, lunch, late afternoon and right before bedtime.  She eats three "meals" of baby food a day.  She is really starting to prefer finger foods over her baby food.  Her favorite finger foods right now are peaches, pears, and cheerios. We introduced a sippy cup several months ago and she is starting to get the hang of drinking out of it- we have tried putting juice in it and breast milk. Over the next few weeks the plan is to take away the afternoon breastfeeding and get her used to taking the breast milk from a cup instead.  I am definitely ready to start the weaning process!

Sleeping:  Amelia sleeps through the night the majority of the time!  Every now and then she will wake up and I will just give her the paci and she goes right back to sleep.  Usually this happens when she is teething and lately I think it was because her ears were hurting with the ear infection.  She takes 2 naps- a 1.5 to 2 hour nap in the morning and usually a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.  She gets up in the morning about 7:30 or 8:00am and goes to bed at night around 8:30 or 9:00.

Playing:  Amelia is a busy busy girl!  She is pulling up on and getting into everything!.  She will cruise around furniture and even move from once piece of furniture to another. She loves pushing her walking toys- she will grab on and pull herself up and just take off across the family room floor.  Her favorite toys right now:  little kitchen, singing mirror, toy house door, and her activity table.  Amelia also enjoys pulling all her books off the shelf, dumping toys out of bins, her fisher price animals, and bath time!

Achievements:  Amelia first word was Dada (much to her Daddy's delight).  She definitely knows that Dan is Dada; although she will also point to me and say Dada, or point to our dogs and say Dada.  She also will say something that sounds like "More" (I usually ask her if she wants "more" food and show her the sign for more).  She has said Mama a couple of times but it still seems random at this point.  Amelia waves hello or bye-bye and she also claps her hands so sweetly.

Around the House:  Just this week she has officially mastered the stairs!  We have a set of 3 stairs going from our family room up to the kitchen and the bottom step is higher than the others.  Up until just the other day I would have to help her get up that first step and then she could do the others by herself.  Those stairs were a nice natural barrier to keep her safely confined in the family room- not any more!  I was up in the kitchen working on dinner and all of a sudden she was next to me :)  My sweet baby girl is growing up so fast- won't be long before she will be walking!

Just had to include this:  Amelia's favorite thing to do in the kitchen- play with the dog food and water!  We have a basket of dog toys and leashes by the back door. Amelia also likes to pull out the black leash and drag it around the kitchen. We are trying to teach Amelia to throw the dog toys- Marcie will sit so patiently while Amelia grabs her toys.  As soon as Amelia drops/throws a toy- Marcie dives for it and will put it right back at Amelia's feet.
