Snow Days!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  We woke up last Monday morning to 8 inches of snow!  It was so beautiful and I couldn't wait to get out in it and play!  Unfortunately, Dan was able to work from home instead of just getting the day off but I went out and played with Amelia and he joined us for a quick break in the afternoon.  Later after Dan got off,  he was able to help finish our snow family.

I took Amelia out on our front porch for like 1 minute to try to get a picture of her in her snow sweater with the snow in the background.

I took this measurement first thing in the morning on the swing in our backyard.

Marcie finally sat still for a moment for me to catch this picture- she and Rocket were bounding through the snow and absolutely loving it!

Amelia was great when we were holding her or if she was standing up but as soon as we sat her down on the blanket to get a picture she started crying!

Daddy and her paci helped make it all better!

Mommy tried to get Amelia to touch the snow- she just patted it at first

When I tried to get her to hold the snowball- this is what happened . . .

Over the next couple of days a lot of people were talking about snow cream on facebook.  Neither Dan or I had ever had snow cream so I found a recipe and we made it one night.  It was pretty good- even Amelia tasted it and kept leaning forward for more.  Snow Cream is definitely a fun new tradition that we will do whenever we get a good snow.  Now we just need to get a sled!

Pretty in Pink

Amelia looked so cute last Sunday in her light pink dress and tights I just had to do a quick photo shoot of my adorable 9 month old.  It's hard to see but in the center of her dress are three snowflakes- in honor of the upcoming snow we were expecting (snow pics to come soon!).

At first I just followed her around the house- this girl is nonstop!

Then we moved to the couch and the glider rocker- Amelia was in such a happy mood!  So many of these came out so good I had a hard time narrowing it down to just these few!

I just love her funny face here

Happy New Year

After being home a couple of days we packed up and headed to Gatlinburg to ring in the new year with Grammy and Papa.  We were glad to have a easy going weekend and enjoyed our favorite restaurant, the Apple Barn, a couple of times.

Amelia didn't really like the "Happy New Year" headband-we had to work really hard to distract her to get a couple of cute pictures (below Daddy was holding her hands so she wouldn't grab the headband and she didn't like that)

What you can't see here is Daddy and Grammy being so silly to get Amelia to smile

3 . . . 2 . . . 1. . . Happy 2011!

Amelia loved being rocked and snuggled by Grammy- this is the BEFORE picture

AFTER- sweet sleeping baby

Sweet little Cousins- Christmas part 2

After Christmas we stopped by to see Joe, Chrissie, Abby and Ada (Dan's brother and his family) sort of on our way home.  Grammy and Papa were already there and it was fun to have the whole family together again. We enjoyed Christmas part 2- watching the girls open presents (Abby was a pro!). The cousins had so much fun playing together!

Our 2yrd old niece Abby asked Papa to get in the basket with her- he surprised all of us when he DID!

Grammy and Papa loved having their little granddaughters all together.

My sister-in-law has an awesome professional camera and we took the opportunity to get some pics of the girls doing what they do best- moving and exploring.  Ada and Amelia are only a little over 2 weeks apart in age.

and they're off . . .

This looked like they were carrying on a whole little conversation

Uncle Joe jumped in to join the fun

My favorite :)

Sweet Abby was the perfect model . . . unlike the two little ones- they had had enough!

Sweet hug from cousin Abby

Look at those baby blues!

Grammy was in heaven!

Amelia and Ada kept trying to get each others paci's

look at those innocent faces- "who us? we didn't do it"

This laundry basket was more fun than the toys!
