Fall Festival- #2

After Amelia's nice long Sunday afternoon nap, we headed out to another fall festival.  Daddy was feeling much better and we were invited by a friend to their church's festivities.  Amelia loved walking around in her little ladybug costume and wanted to carry her pumpkin bucket herself!  This fall festival didn't have many games for toddlers but we did a few and the cakewalk. 


For some reason- after her nap and for the whole evening Amelia was Mommy's girl.  This is the only time I could get her to sit with Daddy for a picture.  The rest of the night she only wanted Mommy to hold her.

After waiting in several long lines for games- Amelia needed a diversion to help her wait for the cakewalk.  Luckily she had gotten a dum dum sucker- that did the trick!  That's really the only candy she has eaten.

This is the best picture we got from the hayride- Amelia had just about had it by this point and was very squirmy!  Of course- she wouldn't let Daddy hold her so my shrinking lap had to do!

Pumpkin carving- I don't know why but I still love it!  I wasn't sure what Amelia would think of all the yucky pumpkin guts but she didn't seem to mind!

Fall Festival

My little ladybug had an awesome time at her first Fall Festival!  She was very overwhelmed at first at all the people and kept pointing at all the kids in costumes.  She quickly got the hang of playing the games and getting candy- usually just by watching the other kids ahead of her.  On the ball toss or bean bag toss she would walk right up to the board and place the ball/bean bag into the hole.  Then she would walk over to the person holding the candy and wait patiently for them to hand her some candy. I then would have her put the candy into her pumpkin bucket.  She has never really had candy before (except for a dum dum sucker one time) so I was surprised that she was interested at all in the candy prize.  Most of the candy she can't eat so Mommy and Daddy get to enjoy :)  Daddy didn't get to go this time because he wasn't feeling well- I think he had caught what Amelia had over the weekend :(    We plan to find another fall festival this weekend so Dan can enjoy with us!

Pumpkin Fun

This year we headed out to a new place- Sims Farm- to try to find a pumpkin.  We usually love going to the corn maze but with Dan's foot being broken the beloved corn maze was not really an option.  So we were just hoping for a great hayride and lots of pumpkins.  Sims farm had an awesome hayride but a very very small selection of small pumpkins.  We had a very dry summer and they said the pumpkin patch didn't do very well.  So the next day we went to another farm- Freeman Springs Farm- to hopefully find the perfect pumpkin.  This place had a petting zoo, a hay bale maze/play area, and a pretty good selection of pumpkins.  Amelia and I even rode the barrel train!

Amelia liked this baby goat but she never would touch it- she just kept pointing at it and saying 'baby' and "baa baa"
