Puppy Love

Our sweet Jasmine had a litter of puppies a few weeks ago.  The kids are in LOVE- well Luke is not to crazy about them being all over his face . . . BUT Amelia is in LOVE! She carries them around and always wants to help me take care of them.  She has been a great helper now that we are feeding them puppy food twice a day- hopefully she won't get to sad when they all go to their new homes right after Thanksgiving.

 too much puppy loving

Even with just one he's not too sure about the puppy kisses anymore

Hard to tell from the picture- but this little puppy had just laid down and Luke kept trying to grab him . . . I guess it's just payback for the previous pictures when they were all up in his face :)

Luke's Dedication

We dedicated our sweet baby boy to the Lord on Oct. 6th.  Our church set up such a intimate and personal service for close family and friends to surround each child and dedicate them to the Lord. The prayer that we prayed over Luke was so special- I'm hoping to get a copy of it so I can frame it.  It put into words just what my heart wanted to say as we dedicated him to the Lord.

Praying over Luke -he fell asleep right before this part started :)

Sandwich kiss :)

Grammy and Papa came up especially to be apart of Luke's dedication

First Major Boo Boo's

Amelia got her first major boo boo's a few weeks ago.  We did not see it happen but heard the baby gate crash and her crying.  Her face was bruised across her eye and cheek- we figured she was running to see the doggie behind the gate and she tripped over a toy and fell into the gate.  Her eyelid swelled up and turned colors over the course of several days and then the bruise just went away.  Amelia has never had any major bumps or bruises- she climbs and gets into everything but she never falls.  So this was a big surprise- and not a good one :(

She was a trooper though- and she did NOT like us putting ice on her boo boo.  All she wanted was her princess band-aids.

Poor sweet girl- just a few days before she also burned her wrist helping Mommie make pancakes.  She was helping to stir the batter and she reached over and bumped the pan on the stove.  That one took several days of princess band-aids and she is now VERY careful when she helps Mommie bake.

Brother/Sister Lovin'

Amelia LOVES to hug her brother!  Luke usually doesn't mind at first but then he gets upset after repeatedly being strangled :) by his loving sister.

Taking a walk

Beautiful fall evening weather has been coaxing us outside after dinner.  We like playing in the backyard with all our doggies and going for walks around the neighborhood.  Amelia usually rides a tricycle or something but in an effort to help wear down her energy we asked her if she wanted to push her baby in her little baby stroller.  She was so excited and walked the whole time- she did want to be held towards the end but we convinced her that she needed to keep pushing her baby stroller.

Bath time buddies

A couple of weeks ago I ended up giving the kids their bath in the morning- we had been out late the night before.  I let them play in the tub for awhile since it was morning and we weren't needing to get or bed or anything.  They had SO much fun playing together.  Luckily I had my camera handy for a photo session after bath time.

For a brief moment I thought I was going to have the cutest picture of both of them smiling and laying on their tummies with the towels over their heads- so cute right?!  Well the terrible twos came gushing out of no where and Amelia didn't want to lay still next to brother.  He was grinning up a storm but my perfect picture moment came to an end.

Even though our photo time ended on a sour note-I didn't want to leave you with a sad picture so here is another one of my two cuties sitting on the rug.  (Please ignore the horrible stripes on the wall in the background- we are currently re-doing the kids bathroom)

Special fun with Amelia

Lately I have been trying to do some special "fun" and creative things with Amelia while Luke is taking his morning nap.  I'm hoping to break out the paint in a couple of weeks.  I have some fun craft ideas for the upcoming holidays (thanksgiving and Christmas in particular!) that we are going to start working on :)

Chalk! Our chalkboard is not working to well so I taped up some paper for her to draw on.

She looks so proud- her favorite color to use is pink.  She kept telling me she was making a letter "A"

Fun with kitchen utensils- I gave her some rice, corn kernels, and pasta along with some dishes, measuring spoons and cups, bowls.  She played with this for about 45 minutes!

Only problem- towards the end she kept trying to take bowls of "food" to her little kitchen on the other side of the kitchen.  Which resulted in rice, pasta and corn kernels all over the place!  Next time- I will set up her work area NEXT to her kitchen.  So she can measure, play, and cook.

New Haircut and Backpack

Amelia sporting her new haircut and backpack.  Amelia had her very first haircut just a couple of weeks ago!  She did great (so did I- with lots of deep breaths).  I didn't have my camera but got some pictures on my phone- so I still haven't figured out how to upload them to my computer.  But here we did a little impromptu photo shoot before church with her new "kitty cat" backpack.

I love her face here-

the "cheesy" grin

new "kitty cat" back pack- as she calls it

wishing to be past the 'terrible' part of the 2's but boy she is growing up too fast!
