9 Months Old

Our handsome boy at 9 months old:

Luke has his 9 month check-up later in the month so I've been waiting to put this post up until I got his official measurements.  He was 18.9 lbs and 28 and 1/4inches long.  He is wearing all 12 month clothes now- although most of the pants are too big (length and around the waist).  He was in the 50th percentile for his height and was near the 25th percentile his weight.  I took the kids to have their feet measured at Stride-Rite and Luke was a size 3.5 or 4.

Luke is definitely trying to crawl!  He does this funny little scoot- he gets up on his hands and toes (with his butt in the air) and then plops down on his tummy.  Then he repeats- he can get around some but it's not really quick.  He hasn't quite "taken off" crawling yet.

Luke is still sleeping through the night- even when he is teething!  He takes about an hour nap in the morning when we are home (around 30 minutes or so at church or if we are out).  He takes a good 2 hour nap in the afternoon.

Eating:  Luke enjoys all baby food- although he is starting to prefer the mixed kinds as opposed to the plain peas or carrots.  He still does not really pick up food and put it in his mouth.  We will put puffs or the yogurt melts in his mouth and he will eat them but he doesn't really pick them up himself.  He does seem to prefer the yogurt melts.  We tried Cheerios and he isn't a big fan.  Luke does like ice-cream :)

His bottom two teeth are all the way in- can you see the little white bumps?  He looks so adorable with his big toothy grin.

Talking- he babbles all the time. . . mostly mama, dada, baba, and lots of other boy noises.  He loves the noise where you push your lips together and blow out.

Luke just adores his big sister.  She doesn't realize it yet- but he tries to follow her around and is fascinated by whatever she is doing.  When Amelia gets in trouble and cries- Luke will sometimes start crying too.  Amelia can make him laugh just by being her silly goofy self.

Does not put anything in his mouth really- just his fingers. No toys or things found on the floor thankfully.  He seems to love any kind of toys that has moving parts- like the wheels on cars- or things that he can make spin.  His favorite toy by far is a car toy- it's a steering wheel with a gear shift and side mirror.  It makes all kind of car noises and he can honk the horn.  He plays with the car toy and the mirror with jazz music the most.

Luke is still a snuggle bug when he gets sleepy and right after waking up.  I just love this and hope he doesn't grow out of it any time soon!

playing with close-up setting on my camera -  check out those baby blues!

Almost Crawling

Luke is almost crawling- he does a sort of inch worm scoot.

his pants tend to make him slide so we take them off

this kid is a ham, seriously, I pull out the camera and he just smiles!

he gets up on hands and toes and then flops down to his belly- then repeats :)

Fun with Friends at the Park

We have some great parks around our area- so it's fun to get together with friends and have picnic lunch.

Look at this line up- I can't believe I got one of all of them looking and mostly smiling!

these are Amelia and Luke's good buddies

I said make a funny face- I just love seeing what kids will do :)

River Maze and Pumpkin Patch

We LOVE the Fall!  Last fall we didn't get to get outside and enjoy the fall weather and activities as much because Dan had broken his foot.  So this year we made sure to get out and do all the fun fall things!  One of our favorite fall activities- corn mazes!  We packed up the kids and headed over to the River Maze and pumpkin patch.  It turned out to be a great family fun day!
