I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

While we were away at my parents for Christmas, where we live in Chattanooga got the perfect 'white Christmas'.  We were a bit disappointed at first but it started snowing late Christmas evening so we all decided that it counted as a 'white Christmas'.  The next morning we woke up to about 7-8 inches of snow!  Of course we just had to go out and play in it!

This was looking out my parents back porch

Amelia's first time really sitting in snow-at first she was pretty curious.

There was so much snow she sunk down into it a little bit. She quickly leaned forward and was touching the snow with her cute little gloved hands.

Then she had enough!

Daddy started working on a snowman.

Amelia and her snowkid- complete with Lindt truffles for eyes, a Hershey kiss for a nose, and a stick for a smile that kept falling

Dan and my brother Will kept wanting to make our snowman bigger and bigger.  We had plenty of snow so we just made it bigger and bigger.  It ended up being taller than Dan!  This was the biggest snowman any of us had ever made and we had so much fun!

Dan couldn't resist taking some funny pictures

Playing with all her new toys

Grandpa's girl

While visiting my parents we had the opportunity to brave the snow and meet my best friend Sabrina, her husband Brett and their two kids at the mall for a play date.  Her daughter Leah is 2yrs old and Andrew is 5 months old.  Andrew and Amelia were about the same size- we had fun catching up while the kids played.

Brett and Sabrina have a really nice camera (I'm saving up for the exact same one!) and Brett was so kind as to get some fun pictures of Amelia- drool and all :)

Christmas!

Christmas was so much fun this year with Amelia! She loved to play under the Christmas tree! Our tree looked kinda funny with all the regular ornaments up high and only wooden and non breakables down towards the bottom but I liked it.  I tried to treasure all the moments like when she pulled all the ornaments she could reach off the tree and put them in her mouth.

Since we were going to see Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas, Grammy and Papa sent some presents early for Amelia to enjoy.  This was a special book - when we opened it Grammy's voice was reading to Amelia.  The look on her face when she heard Grammy's voice was so sweet.

This fun cat and mouse read a large portion of "Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Thomas family Christmas tree 2010

A few days before Christmas we loaded up and headed for North Carolina with our car completely packed!

One of our family traditions is making sugar cookies in fun shapes and decorating them with sprinkles and icing.  Christmas Eve was so special this year- my Dad read the Christmas story and we sang as many Christmas carols as we could think of!  What can I say- we are a musical family.  Amelia even started clapping while we were singing- she hadn't really done that before.  Amelia also played with her Little People Nativity set.  My younger brother (who will be a famous pastry chef one day soon) made us all kinds of yummy treats! Dan and I were so excited about experiencing the traditions and fun of Christmas morning with our sweet baby girl.

Christmas morning!

Let's see what Santa brought . . . hmmm

This present wasn't even hers . . .

but she loved the bows and the ribbons

I didn't even try to get pictures of Amelia opening her presents.  She moves too fast for our camera to capture it- plus I was too busy just enjoying the morning :)

Grandpa was playing with Amelia- blowing in her face. She wasn't too sure at first but then she liked it :)

Christmas + family + adorable 9 month old baby girl = sweet memories

Christmas photo shoot

Amelia has several really cute Christmas outfits and I attempted to get some pictures of her in front of our Christmas tree for our Christmas card this year.  After one really long day I have these few that turned out pretty good!

Snow Cute

Last weekend we had our first snow of the season!  Daddy was out of town on a business trip and disappointed to miss the snow but it only ended up being a dusting. We don't get snow very often but we are hoping for one good snow to build a snowman.

 Look Mommy, snow!

Amelia is very observant- she notices every little detail.  There was a little bit of snow falling- she was checking it all out.

Grandpa's birthday

I'm a little behind on the blog so bear with me while I catch back up.  A couple of weeks ago it was my Dad's birthday and we haven't seen Grandma and Grandpa since our camping trip in September.  So Amelia wanted to send her grandpa a special note. (I now wish I had thought of this for our other parents birthdays- sorry Grandma, Grammy and Papa).
