He requested Coca Cola cake, like the one they have a Cracker Barrel, so I found a recipe and tried it out. Neither one of us are big cake eaters- but boy was this Coke cake rich! Dan and I got a babysitter for his birthday night and went out for dinner and a movie. It was so nice to have a few hours away- just the two of us. That is the second time we have been out on a date since Amelia was born and we decided we need to do that more often! On Saturday, all of Dan's birthday money was burning a hole in his pocket so we went shopping. He ended up getting a Nintendo DS with a couple of games. He started playing as soon as we got home and Amelia was very interested in how to play Mario too!
Then she grabbed Daddy's glasses- this is really the first time she has done that.
This birthday was not as extravagant as his last birthdays (hang gliding for his 29th and sky diving for his 30th)- but having Amelia here to celebrate is a dream come true.
