Grammy and Papa came up at the end of Grammy's spring break to celebrate Amelia's 1st birthday. The first day they were here was St. Patrick's Day. We have a sweet video of Amelia dancing to some Irish music on t.v.- I'm going to try to figure out how to upload video. For now- enjoy these pictures :)

Hi!
Lunch date with Daddy
I love Amelia's mischievous face in this picture
On a day all about the luck of the Irish- I'm one lucky wife and Momma (I don't believe much in luck- God has just totally blessed me with an incredible husband and an adorable baby girl).

Helping Daddy
In the past couple of weeks Amelia has been exploring the kitchen and figured out there are all kinds of fun things to see in the cabinets. We finally got some cabinet locks and Dan put them in one evening with Amelia's "help".
She was NOT happy when she realized she could not get into this cabinet!

Outdoor Fun
We have had such beautiful weather lately that Amelia and I have been going outside more and more. Some days she will crawl/walk over to the door and point- and emphatically try to tell me that she wants to go outside. I definitely know I have an outdoor girl- which I just love :)
Here she is riding her horse- even though she looks so serious, when it was time to go in she had a fit!
Round and round our cul-de-sac we went
then she wanted to push it herself
Look at that face- she was so proud of herself
Playing in the backyard
Amelia likes dog toys- Marcie loves to play fetch so she will just keep bringing more and more toys and leaving them at our and Amelia's feet. So now Amelia just wants to pick up the slobbery dog toys and carry them around and put them in her mouth. Marcie will just run off and find another toy to come and drop at Amelia's feet. We are trying to teach Amelia how to throw the toys for Marcie :)
She was still holding the green alien toy and when I took it away to get this pictures- this was the face I got (it's not a smiling face- it's the beginning of a crying fit where she will drop to her knees and throw her hands up in the air)
This big ball is actually a dog toy as well- Rocket will use his nose and push the ball all over the yard. Marcie will eventually pop it- so we have to only let them play with it while we out there.
See the dogs in the background . . . they were going crazy watching Amelia playing with "their" ball- they were just waiting for her to kick it or hit it so they could chase it

Florida and Family
Loving the Florida sunshine!
Amelia and I had the opportunity last week to go to Florida to spend a few days with Grandma and Grandpa at Great Grandma's house. Luckily Grammy and Papa agreed to pick us up at the airport and generously let us use one of their cars to drive over to Great Grandma's house in Ormond Beach. Then we drove back and Papa graciously took us back to the airport! So in a matter of 5 days Amelia was spoiled by her Grandma & Grandpa, Great Grandma & Great Grandpa, AND Grammy & Papa!
Amelia's first flight was a bit rough at first- it was during her naptime but she sure did not like being confined in a small space of my lap! She finally fell asleep and I was able to catch a little nap too! On the way back Amelia was wide awake and enjoyed playing with people sitting by us, eating some snacks, and playing with a couple of her toys. She was such a good traveler!
Here she is pointing at the young girl sitting next to us-
Grandpa playing with Amelia out on the dock- while we were there Amelia said "Grandpa" several times (it sounded like "an-pa")
Amelia kept wanting to crawl right to the edge of the dock- so Grandpa kept a firm grip on her :)
Amelia took several steps by herself to Grandma!

Great Grandma taught Amelia how to load up the dump truck . . .
and then dump it out
4 Generations- this was the 4 generations when I was just 2yrs old
4 Generations now: Phyllis May (Great Grandma), Elizabeth May, Amelia May, and Sandra May (Grandma)

Papa playing with Amelia- the first night in Florida Amelia said "Papa"; The night before we flew back home we stayed with Grammy and Papa again- they have a litter of puppies and Amelia said something that sounds very much like "puppy". Now that we are back home- she is calling our dogs "puppy" instead of "dada" (what she used to call them).

11 Months Old
Just about a week ago Amelia turned 11 months old! We got the white bear back out and attempted to get some good pictures of Amelia standing next to the bear with the paper. What a fiasco! After a couple of very funny and frustrating days, we finally got pictures outside that came out pretty well. One more month with the bear- I will definitely not be doing "bear" pictures with the next child! Enjoy!
My favorite "bear" picture :)
Serious face
Of course now that she can stand that's all she wants to do- and grab the paper!
New accomplishments: Amelia loves to point now- she points at everything and it almost sounds like she is saying "What's that?". She also loves to walk everywhere while holding my hand. She has taken steps by herself a handful of times! When we try to practice walking by herself she will usually drop to her knees and crawl. She is currently teething- she has her bottom two and top two teeth- the bottom side ones are coming in now she will put one finger in her mouth or rub her paci on either side of her mouth. She says Dada all the time- pointing at Dan or the dogs most of the time. Other things she has said: Momma (about 3 times), more (with the hand sign), thank you, and something that sounds like puppy.
She looks like a such a big girl here... sort of bittersweet
Eating: She is still breastfeeding 4 times a day and eating three baby food/finger food meals. She is starting to wean herself from breastfeeding and I am hoping to introduce milk in the next week or so instead of waiting until she is officially one year old. We also discovered she likes pickles- while at Jason's Deli a couple of weeks ago I gave her a piece of pickle expecting a funny face but she just gummed on it and gobbled it up! One new food favorite is macaroni and cheese!
Fun close-ups- I just love love love this sweet face :)
Cheesing it
A previous day . . . none of the pics came out except this one where she is just staring at the bow on the bear
