6 months old- 9/23/10

Just a couple of weeks ago Amelia turned 6 months old!  We have been having a blast trying out new foods (pictures to come soon), going on day trips, and just playing around the house.  The doctor proclaimed her just perfect at 14 lbs 7oz and 25 1/2 inches long.  Amelia is such a happy baby for the most part . . . talking and babbling a lot!  She is sitting up all by herself now and will sort of bounce up and down and wave her arms when she gets excited.  Just this morning, she became a rolling machine.  All of a sudden rolling over is fun . . . but tummy time is still questionable.  She grabs everything in sight and loves to "pet" Lily our cat and the dogs.  We are trying to teach the dogs the command "kiss Amelia". So far Rocket has caught on and will lick Amelia's hands or feet much to her delight!

In all honesty, I am considering not doing any more pictures with the bear.  It is such a challenge to get Amelia to smile while next to such a fun distraction as a fluffy bear and crinkly paper.  I spent several days this time just trying to get a good shot of her smiling with the bear.  So this may be the end of the bear . . . we will see.

Started out with fall leaves . . too distracting but caught a good smile :)

 
Of course Lily had to get in on the action and Amelia would not stop grabbing the paper.

Next day . . she was so happy right after breakfast so I quickly tried to get some shots even though she was still in her pj's and of course . . . more distractions.  Lily decided to push the bear over.

Last try . . . Amelia is thinking "this bear thing again . . . oohh fun paper"
