-puts her hands up all the time now for us to pick her up . . . but usually doesn't want to be held long. She is a busy girl- always moving, walking, leaving disaster areas as she moves on to something else. She has learned how to put away her bath toys- now we are working on teaching her how to put away her other toys
- is enjoying drinking her whole milk more now (no more warming it up-she prefers it cold); although it's still not the amount they recommend I'm not worried because the girl loves loves yogurt and cheese
-had 4 new teeth recently come in- she just got one on each side of the middle ones on top and bottom- basically now she has 4 on top and 4 on bottom
-when she wants to eat she will go to the fridge, get up on her tippy toes and point OR she will go over to her high chair and get up on her tippy toes and yell to get our attention
-figured out how to drink out of a straw (with Mommy's cookies N cream milkshake from Chick-fil-A)
-now says "Uh oh" all the time; still does not say Momma; the several words she has said in the past she doesn't really say right now; she is getting much more consistent at using the signs for "eat", "more", "milk" and we just started using the sign for "dog" which she is picking up pretty quickly. Most everything she points at is "Da". The main words she does say fairly clearly and regularly are "Dada", "uh oh", "duckey", and "thank you".

-sleeps from between 8:00/8:30 to around 7:00/7:30am; We are starting to phase out the morning nap- some days she will take one for about an hour other days she doesn't seem to need one. Her afternoon nap is a must! Usually from 1:30 to 3:30 or 2:00 to 4:00. I have taught her to leave her paci in the crib- so after getting up from sleeping I will pick her up and she will throw or drop her paci in the crib with a big smile. So no more paci unless she is in her crib- or during bedtime stories :)
-can give a high five- she will hold up her hand and smile when you do it (for some reason giving high fives in the swing is just hilarious). She also loves to give big open mouth slobbery kisses! (Still working on blowing kisses)
-is trying to figure out how to use a spoon. I now put her food on a plate on her tray and give her a spoon. If I help her she can scoop up the food with the spoon and then wants to put it to her mouth by herself. Sometimes she will pick up food with her other hand and put it on her spoon. Usually though the food will fall off the spoon before it gets to her mouth and she happily reverts to just eating with her hands. A new absolute favorite food: grapes!

-she is starting to understand how to play with her baby doll. She will put her 'baby' in the stroller and push her around and then pull 'baby' out and bring her over to us.
-she can follow simple commands- "go get your shoes" is a favorite (this girl LOVES shoes), put your baby in the stroller, bring your cup, etc
| her two loves: books and shoes |
-just figured out how to stand up on her own without holding on to something
-can shake her head "no"- when I try to get her to shake her head up and down for "yes" she just shakes it back and forth for "no"
| she looks like such a big girl in this outfit! |
-loves her friend Baylee (the little girl I babysit). The greet each other each morning with what sounds like "ahhhh" and after nap times. If Baylee is crying or thew all her toys out of her reach I will ask Amelia to give Baylee a toy and she will take one over and give it to Baylee . . . it is so sweet watching them grin and "talk" to each other.
-is much more expressive (dramatic) about what she wants and doesn't want (for example: she will have a little crying fit when we finish taking a walk on her horsey- because she doesn't want to get off). She will also sometimes cry when I tell her "No No"
-still LOVES the dogs (she actually like the 2 new dogs Stormie and Radar more than Rocket and Marcie- Stormie is going to Papa Thomas and we are still debating on whether to keep Radar or not) Everyday we must go out and see the dogs!
