Chattanooga Zoo

A couple of weeks ago we finally got to visit the Chattanooga zoo.  I have heard mixed reviews on the zoo because it is pretty small and we are not far from the Atlanta Zoo or the Knoxville Zoo. We went with the Christian moms group that I joined a while back so it was fun to see the animals through the kids eyes.  I thought it was pretty good- we were able to walk through the whole zoo in about 2 hours.  A nice and cheap local activity that we can do that's not so big it overwhelms little attention spans.

Amelia loved to do just what the "big" kids were doing.  (the other kids were 2yrs to about 4yrs old).  As we got to each exhibit the kids would climb up on the ledge in front of the glass and Amelia started doing the same.

The zoo is very proud to feature a snow leopard cub . . . just newly released for the public to see

Amelia's favorite animals by far were the monkeys . . in particular these little Tamarins.  They jumped and moved around so quickly throughout their enclosure and Amelia just had a huge grin and kept trying to hit the glass.  She pretty much liked any of the animals that were moving.
