What Luke is up to at 10 months old:
Luke is still comfortable in his 12 month clothes- the pajamas fit him just perfectly so I'm glad I also got some 18 month ones because I don't think we will make it through the winter in the 12 month pajamas. The 12 month pants are a little long and most are big around his waist. He is wearing size 3 diapers and we use a size 4 at night- he sleeps on his belly and being a boy his diapers fill up in the front- a few mornings he was a little wet right in the front so when we started using a size 4 it took care of that.
On October 20th- at 9 months old Luke "took off" with his funny little inchworm crawling. He would push up on his hands and toes and plop down and then up again. He started doing this quickly and pushing himself around where ever he wanted to go. He also started trying to pull-up.
Since Thanksgiving- Luke is doing a normal crawl. He is a bit slow still and moves very emphatically but he is quickly learning to pick up speed since he wants to keep up with Amelia. He also now pulls up on EVERYTHING! He likes to push his car walker and walk when we hold his hands. He is not comfortable yet cruising around furniture.
He also figured out how to crawl up the stairs the first weekend in December.
Sleeping- like a champ! He goes to bed around 8:30 pm and gets up around 7:30 am. He take about an hour nap in the morning and a good two hour nap in the afternoon.
Talking- he is still babbling like crazy! He hasn't really said any new words yet but sometimes he 'talks' so emphatically it really seems like he wants to communicate to us. The rest of the time it's just the usual babble mixed in with silly noises.
Eating: Luke still doesn't seem to want to pick up food and put it in his mouth. He doesn't put much of anything in his mouth- just his fingers. So we have been trying out lots of different finger foods to see what would entice him to pick up the food and put it in his mouth. He likes Mac N Cheese, vanilla wafers, pieces of fruit (peaches or pears), pasta, and rice. He still doesn't do well picking them up but he likes them! He doesn't really care for cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts or ritz crackers.
He also got in his two top teeth the past few weeks- he had some drooling and started to put a few toys in his mouth. The teething didn't cause any trouble with sleeping- thank goodness.
Favorite toys: right now he LOVES the singing mirror toy and the leap frog activity table. He likes to pull up on each of them and sort of bounce up and down. On the activity table he plays with each thing for quite a long time. Amelia at that age would spend a short time playing with lots of things- Luke plays with one thing for a long time before moving on to something else.
